Health and Social Care

About Our Subject

Health and Social Care is well established at CWLC and is often a popular option choice with our students at KS4. As a result, we have seen our numbers grow year on year in the department and we currently have, 2 groups in year 10 and 2 groups in year 11. As well as teaching 1 group of 1 A –Level equivalent, 2 A Level equivalent and 3 A Level equivalent Pearson Edexcel BTEC Health and Social Care at Level 3 in both year 12 and year 13 at KS5. All classes are mixed gender and mixed ability.

As a vocational subject we are passionate that the students get as much contact with professionals and service users from the Health and Social Care settings as possible in order to gain valuable work experience and learn best practice.

As Health and Social Care continues to be daily headline news in our ever-changing society (locally, nationally and globally), Health and Social Care workers at all levels have shown themselves to be invaluable and indispensable members of society. There are now more job opportunities available within the Health and Social Care profession than ever before. Any job within the Health and Social Care profession provides a good skill base and is rewarding.
